James Pace, 44, was acquitted of murdering James Hood II at a jury trial.
OAKLAND — A man who’d been in jail since October 2019 was acquitted of murder and related charges at trial in the shooting of a 39-year-old man at a homeless camp.
When Pace was arrested, prosecutors alleged he was at the camp at the time of the shooting and desperately called for a ride out of the area shortly after. They also alleged he arranged for a false alibi.
