OAKLAND — A 19-year-old man was shot multiple times in East Oakland on Tuesday morning, authorities said.The shooting happened about 10:40 a.m. in the area of 5th Avenue and International Boulevard, several blocks east of Lake Merritt in the city’s Eastlake neighborhood. The man told police he was driving in a BMW sport-utility vehicle that was stopped when somebody began shooting at him from outside.
Despite being wounded, he was able to drive to an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Myrtle Street in West Oakland’s Oak Center neighborhood where someone gave him a ride to a hospital.For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $5,000 in the shooting.
