Furious fans found ticket prices more than doubled
All 17 shows on their UK and Ireland tour next summer sold out on Saturday . But it came after fans waited in online queues for hours only to find that websites had 'crashed' and prices for some tickets had more than doubled, costing as much as £350 each.
The controversial practice involves increasing or decreasing prices based on demand. Ticketmaster has said it does not set concert prices and its website states this is down to the 'event organiser' who 'has priced these tickets according to their market value'. "All parties involved did their utmost to deliver the best possible fan experience, but due to the unprecedented demand this became impossible to achieve."
