Oasis fans couldn't hold back as Liam Gallagher made his latest announcement online - days after the scramble for tickets to the band's reunion gigs. The Manchester legends' ticket sale sparked controversy at the weekend as ticket websites buckled under the pressure of fans eager to see the brothers reunite in a series of shows next summer - including at Heaton Park.
The government has also stepped in, confirming a review on 'dynamic pricing'. Following the controversy, Liam was slammed on social media as he released a new photo this week, the Irish Mirror reports.Oasis are yet to address their ticket controversy as it continues, however, Liam posted a photo of himself for a Stone Island campaign. Under the photo, one fan fumed: "Think of all those jackets you could buy for the price of a ticket.
In his caption, Liam simply said: " LIAM GALLAGHER, ROCK 'N' ROLL STAR @stoneisland." Fans were left furious by soaring prices on tickets, leaving many empty-handed when they went on sale at the weekend. After an "unprecedented demand" for tickets to the Live '25 shows, many were stunned to see costs soar due to dynamic pricing.
In 2022, Ticketmaster decided that when there is an increase of demand, a limited supply of tickets are allowed to go up in price. They say the point of the dynamic pricing system is to "give fans fair and safe access to the tickets, while enabling artists and other people involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their true market value".
