Obi-Wan star explains why Yoda never appeared in series
The gentle Jedi Master had a close bond with Obi-Wan in both of the original and prequel trilogies, but he seems to have remained absent following the events ofSpeaking recently on, McGregor explained the many obstacles that kept his character from contacting his most-trusted mentor in the new series.
"All he's got left is to look after Luke Skywalker. That's all he's got left, really, and to try to communicate with his old master, Qui-Gon, in his spiritual life," McGregor said. "But he can't reach out to any of his old [mentors]. He can't reach out to Yoda, he can't reach out to any of the surviving Jedi for fear of giving himself away."
