An officer was struck by a vehicle Friday night on DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Roosevelt Road when the driver reversed and struck the officer who was approaching on foot, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 8:15 p.m., officers saw a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle wanted in connection of an aggravated battery to a police officer earlier this month.
An officer attempted to curb the vehicle in the 1100 block of DuSable Lake Shore Drive, but as the officer approached the driver reversed hitting the officer, police said.The vehicle fled south and stopped in the 7200 block of South Vincennes Avenue where occupants fled on foot. but were caught, police said.The officer was taken to an area hospital with a broken leg, and was listed in good condition.
