While being without Burke would be a major blow on Saturday, Ohio State feels good about the options it has elsewhere on the depth chart.On not liking the phrase “bend but don’t break” defense, Knowles quipped, “I just don’t like the way it sounds.” Linebackers Cody Simon and Steele Chambers are “neck and neck,” per Knowles. Simon continues to earn more and more playing time, and that he brings an added dimension in the run game while Chambers excels in pass coverage.
Said that this is the rotation at LB that he hoped for at the outset of the season. Simon has “earned it,” in terms of getting more snaps on Saturdays, but it just took a bit longer.
