SYLVANIA, Ohio – Fifth-seeded Olmsted Falls took its first lead with 2:22 left in the first quarter, then held on for dear life as fourth-seeded Sylvania Southview never let the Bulldogs lead by more than two touchdowns.
Despite Southview’s resiliency, the Bulldogs held on for a 35-28 victory in a quarterfinal in Division II, Region 6 at Sylvania Southview’s Mel Nusbaum Stadium. Olmsted Falls advances to face Southwestern Conference rival and top-seeded Avon , a 49-7 winner over eighth-seeded Brecksville, in a regional semifinal next Friday night at a site to be determined. Southview’s season ends at 8-4. Avon defeated the Bulldogs, 52-10, back in Week 6.
