Massachusetts police have said a criminal investigation is underway.
Authorities in Massachusetts say at least 10 people are injured after a car slammed into an Apple Store in Hingham, a city about 20 miles outside of Boston. Emergency crews responded to the scene, where they found a gaping hole that a black car had driven through on the sales floor. They are working to assist people who are either injured or trapped.
Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz gave the details about the crash at a news conference. Police were investigating and didn’t immediately say whether the crash was believed to be accidental. A large hole was seen in the glass front of the store and first responders were at the scene in Hingham after the crash shortly before 11 a.m.Authorities say at least one person is dead and at least 16 people were injured. that the hospital was notified that seven to 10 victims could be transported to their emergency room.
The store, which is located in the Derby Street Shops, had been scheduled to open about an hour before the crash.
