BREAKING: Actress Doreen Mantle has died ‘peacefully at home’ aged 97. She was known for her performance as Jean Warboys in the BBC comedy One Foot In The Grave and appeared in Doctors and Coronation Street.
In Coronation Street, she appeared as the elderly mother of Colin Fishwick, whose identity was stolen by con-artist and villain John Stape.
However, she was especially recognised for her role in One Foot In The Grave, which ran for a decade between 1990 and 2000, and followed the exploits of grumpy Victor Meldrew and his long-suffering wife Margaret .
