On Sunday, fans will have the chance to celebrate all that she’s achieved as Rapinoe takes to the field one last time for the US Women’s National Team .
But even a feud with the president of her country failed to throw her off-track. In 2022, she did enter the White House, only this time to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom – the highest civilian honor in the United States – from President Joe Biden, for her advocacy work.
