"One of the best players on the ice tonight, for me," Larsen said."I noticed him every shift. Great job on the penalty kill. Scores. Could’ve had one or two more . He played right until the end. He was physical. ... We talk about guys who put the work in. He’s a guy who’s right at the top of the testing. Knocked it out of the park. You see him in the third period and he’s still got a lot of gas. This camp’s been hard. He’s catching our eye.
Meyer spoke earlier this week about the line he has to find between demonstrating his physicality and trying not to injure his teammates. In his first preseason appearance, he put the physical play on full display, just as he'd planned.
