This day marked one year after the 200-acre Coastal Fire ripped through the Coronado Pointe community destroying 20 homes and damaging another eleven. Though the cause remained under investigation by the Orange County Fire Authority, the Laguna Beach Dept. and CAL FIRE, nearly 200 plaintiffs in a mass action lawsuit accused Southern California Edison.More Videos
The weather was not unusual for the area on that humid spring afternoon, but the daily, cool ocean breeze carried the flames up the canyon creating spot fires and taking over homes built before the early 2000s.
