Some folks been asking about 7th Street closed this morning
will be coming to 7th Street NW, one of the six Open Streets events the D.C. government is planning throughout the city this year.
During this event, the District will close almost 2 miles of 7th Street — from Florida Avenue NW to Pennsylvania Avenue NW — to all motor vehicles. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the corridor will be open to everyone to traverse by foot, bike, scooter, skates, or skateboard. D.C. residents and visitors will have multiple opportunities to support local businesses and participate in a range of activities as well as educational and entertainment programming, including an AwesomeCon-sponsored Silent Disco next to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
Many local fitness and yoga studios will be holding demonstrations, several businesses are offering deals, and the Open Streets main stage, located near 7th and F, will feature amazing local acts. Lime Scooters is also sponsoring a Virtual Reality activation.
