'But I feel like there’s a broken chain of command. (Athletics directors and school presidents are) not hearing us and we're not hearing them. I think we can all come together,' Clemson's Darien Rencher said.
“Decisions are being made on our behalf that affect us tremendously,” Lawrence said. “… We obviously know there has to be a chain of command. We’re not the final say and we don’t make the decision. But I think it makes for better decisions when we understand them and they understand us.”
A players association sure sounds like a union. It can’t be called that, however, because they are not employees. But whatever the name, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney agreed that it’s a good idea. Yuracheck was the first athletic director to publicly state his backing of the players’ movement. They will need to create a wave of support from college administrators and also politicians to reach the desired outcome.
