” : The article’s first sentence contains a glaring error that captures the political deceit behind Build Better SD. Developers are not making most of their money by building in “wealthy” neighborhoods. They are cramming massive projects into older neighborhoods where middle-class families live in modest homes surrounded by crumbling infrastructure.
Excessive density in North Park is having a seismic impact on air quality, traffic and noise levels. The city’s only infrastructure project to mitigate that impact has been a small concrete plaza with a handful of dying trees.When communities like ours become dumping grounds for overdevelopment, journalists should not parrot the political canard that we’re privileged people who don’t deserve adequate infrastructure. Please take your thumb off the scale.
