The incident happened on Market Street between Church and Oswaldtwistle close to the railway station
A lorry has collided with a railway bridge causing traffic chaos and leaving train services cancelled or delayed.
AA Traffic News reports heavy congestion in the area as a result of the incident. Rail provider Northern reports that some services have also been cancelled or delays with 'all lines' in the area blocked.A statement on Northern's website reads: "Due to a road vehicle colliding with a bridge between Blackburn and Burnley Manchester Road all lines are blocked. Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes.
"Services on these routes will be disrupted until Network Rail arrive on site and inspect the bridge. York to Blackpool North services will start/terminate at Hebden Bridge.
