'Our ‘forgotten’ street is so overrun with rats we feel like prisoners… no one’s doing anything and it’s unbearable'
One Manchester Housing Association have apologised and said it is working on the area with professional teams to remove the problem.
A spokesperson told The Sun Online: “We recognise fly-tipping is an issue in this area, and have a team dedicated to regularly removing it. "Larger works to some of the green space are extensive and we’re working on-site now with contractors to clear the area as quickly as possible." Manchester Council also said it has provided free pest control services for affected tenants for their homes and gardens.
The council said: "We encourage all customers to use this service and we’ll continue to work with our partners in the area to tackle any problems,."Bushway Close in the Brierley Hill area ofBut when the council emptied the bungalows and abandoned them, residents saw the road descend into a fire-ravaged free-for-all swarming with rats.
