Proposed cuts will be presented to a meeting of the city's Integration Joint Board, a partnership between Glasgow City Council and the NHS, on Wednesday.
Around 150 jobs could be cut as health and social care services in Glasgow face a budget deficit of over £36 million.
The planned cuts would see the equivalent of 90 health roles and around 62 council jobs removed. Officials have said a range of options, including redeploying staff and not filling vacancies, would be used. Proposals to plug the £36.4m funding gap will “result in reducing services which are not core services to enable us to support those services which have the greatest impact in relation to improving the health and well-being of those who access these services”.
That saving would also be agreed in principle and revisited at May’s IJB meeting. Officials have also listed a planned £3.5m cut to a “maximising independence programme”, which aims to keep people “living at home for as long as possible”. Unison has said it is “vehemently opposed” to the change, and will “take any appropriate action to defend public holiday payments”.
