Police launched an investigation after the infant was taken to a hospital with a broken leg.
WILLIAMSPORT – A Williamsport couple is headed to state prison in a case in which opiates and cocaine metabolites were found in the urine of their infant daughter.
The charges stemmed from an investigation that began when their 1-month-old daughter was taken to UPMC Williamsport on Feb. 7, 2019, with a broken right leg. Their DNA was found on the gun, safe and bags containing drugs. Neither may possess a firearm because of their criminal records. Wright claimed he was not a violent person, admitted he had sold in the drugs but not since 2005 and he did not intentionally hurt the baby.
He cited her attributing medication received at the hospital for the opiates in her daughter’s urine and claimed a woman to whom they rented a room was responsible for the drugs.
