The UFC stars spoke to the ECHO about their new BBC reality show and the importance of their Liverpool roots
The two have been on an incredible journey from fresh faced MMA rookies fighting at the Olympia to fully fledged UFC stars, featuring in prime spots on the cards of huge shows in Las Vegas. Throughout the highs and lows of their amazing story, there have been two things that have never wavered: their strong friendship and a love for the city they were raised in.
Paddy's larger than life personality has skyrocketed him to become one of the UFC's biggest names and he is well accustomed to having camera crews follow him around for videos shared on his popular YouTube channel. The Huyton-born fighter told the ECHO in an exclusive interview how he didn't have to think twice about the prospect of having his own BBC show.
Molly managed to get her career back on track while building two successful businesses as she runs Polpetta restaurant in the Baltic Market and alcohol brand, Pimp Gin. The Norris Green fighter credited the defiant Scouse spirit and the support Liverpudlians show one another as the reasons why she has been able to display such resilience throughout her life.
Paddy agreed and said he owes his career to his Liverpool upbringing. The Lightweight fighter added: "I always say I wouldn't be where I am without this city. It's as simple as that. Paddy and Molly are now both back in training as they prepare to return to the Octagon for UFC 304 next month. The two have transcended the sport as a legion of Liverpudlians will make the short journey down the M62 to support them at the Co-op Live in Manchester on July 27.
