A boy who was found "starving to death" and wandering the streets in search of food begged police not to take him back home.
The youngster's parents, Tyler and Krista Schindley, are now facing numerous charges, including attempted homicide in the second degree, attempted malice murder, cruelty to children in the first, second, and third degree, battery, simple battery, and false imprisonment. According to WXIA, Spalding County District Attorney Marie Broder said: "This child was, simply put, being starved to death, and it is tragic. I truly believe that if he had not gotten out of that home, this would be a very different case."
Kim Seigler, who lives next door to the family, found the child walking barefoot outside and immediately called the police. She described him as very small and thin, weighing only 36 pounds.
