Dexter, 12, is raising money for two charities with the 230-mile (370.1km) journey.
A 12-year-old boy is preparing to set off on a 230-mile trip, cycling from Berkshire to the Paralympics in Paris.
He will also be raising money for Sport in Mind, based in his hometown of Reading, which uses physical activity to help those experiencing poor mental health. This year he has already joined Chris Boardman for one of the stages of the former Olympic champion's Pedal to Paris event, intended to raise the impact of climate change on sport.
That is the same distance as the first leg of his journey to Paris, which will take him to the ferry port.
