A £50 donation has been made under the name of Beatles singer “Paul McCartney”.
Watford Mencap has launched the JustGiving page ‘Let's build a Mencap reflection garden for happy, healthy lives’ with a £10,000 target in mind.
What it did not expect was to receive a £50 donation this afternoon , with £12.50 gift aid, from an account under the Beatle’s name, with the following message: “Wonderful idea, Turn an “empty garden” into a place full of love … .”The learning disabilities charity’s fundraising manager, Michelle Hamilton, said: “We’ve got some fabulous friends who are supporting project.
Watford Mencap CEO Jane Pattinson said: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this wonderful garden to our community. “We are certain that the people we support will enjoy its peacefulness and be stimulated by its sensory elements for many years to come.”We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues. The ability to comment on our stories is a privilege, not a right, however, and that privilege may be withdrawn if it is abused or misused.
