Paul O’Grady’s final wish revealed after thousands turn out for star’s funeral
Paul O’Grady’s final wish has been revealed after thousands of people turned out to pay their respects to the beloved star.During the funeral procession on April 20 his tearful husband, Andre Portasio, could be seen cuddling one of their dogs as he sat on a horse-drawn carriage with the TV legend being carried past mourners who lined the streets.
Paul's major career breakthrough was when he replaced Paula Yates on The Big Breakfast show, this was followed by The Lily Savage show and a £1 million deal to host Blankety Blank in 1998 for two years. Paul cared for Brendan at his home in Kent and found him a hospital bed from the Holby City props department.
"We were both 49, barely able to believe what we’d achieved – I’d just won a BAFTA for the Paul O’Grady Show – and then suddenly bang, he’s gone."
