Harris County sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a pedestrian was fatally struck on the East Freeway Tuesday.
– According to deputies, a man was driving a 2014 Hyundai Sonata eastbound in the fifth lane when a pedestrian was walking and failed to yield to the Hyundai, which was changing lanes.
The pedestrian was struck by the Hyundai and was thrown forward, HCSO said. Another man who deputies said was operating a 1998 Chevrolet C1500 pickup truck was changing lanes and also ran over the victim, investigators said. Deputies said the victim died and both drivers remained at the scene, showing no signs of intoxication or impairment.The case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
