Cookson Street is closed in both directions between the junctions for Talbot Road and George Street
Emergency services are responding to a second serious crash in Blackpool today after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
Police and paramedics are at the scene on Cookson Street and the road has been closed between the junctions for Talbot Road and George Street. The incident was first reported shortly before midday on Saturday . It comes after a separate collision earlier on Devonshire Road involving a motorbike and a car. Lancashire Constabulary said the incident on Devonshire Road involves a female pedestrian and a car.North West Ambulance Service are on the scene and no details are yet available on her injuries. LancsLive has contacted NWAS for comment.
In a statement on social media, Blackpool Police said: "We’re currently at the scene of a road closure on Cookson Street, Blackpool between the junctions for Talbot Road and George Street. The road is closed due to road traffic collision and we anticipate this will be closed for some time.Traffic alert service Inrix reports: "A586 Talbot Road in both directions blocked, heavy traffic due to serious accident at Cookson Street.
