"I've always loved the Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki and grew up with his movies, so I wanted to bring his films to life with my makeup," she says in an email. "I want others to feel the joy and nostalgia through my creativity.
The mythical makeup look was specifically inspired by the film's main character, Haku, who is actually a dragon disguised as a human boy . Despite the boldness of the makeup idea itself, Kam managed to make it feel almost ethereal with intricate details and soft colors like pastel green, white, and mauve.
