SAN ANTONIO — On Saturday, the Cesar E. Chavez March took to the streets of west San Antonio. Just like the labor laws and equity Cesar E, Chavez championed for farmworkers, the march continues to champion against injustices, hoping new voices bring upon change. "It’s an important year in the political sphere and I want to make sure our rights are represented, our future is taken care of," said Yvi Hernandez."It matters. It matters to show up, to go, to speak up.
"My family came from Zacatecas and then they migrated to the United States and my grandparents were migrant workers," she said."It’s important for us to get involved in voting and in our community and our vote matters." KENS 5 has brought numerous firsts to South Texas television, including being the first local station with a helicopter, the first with its own Doppler radar and the first to air a local morning news program.
