'There's two little girls that need their mummy home'
Residents of St Michael’s on Wyre looked on in hope as their close-knit community was swarmed by police officers for third day.
Mr Ansell said he or Ms Bulley, also known as Nikki, would drop the children, aged nine and six, off at a local primary school before taking Willow for a walk along the river nearby. She did the school run before heading for the dog walk on Friday, police indicated. Described by police as a 'close knit community', those living in St Michael's on the Wyre have been shocked by this incident which has never been seen before in the village.
Superintendent Sally Riley of Lancashire Police said: "The dog was found about an hour later, as was her mobile phone, so her family are very concerned, as are we. We’ve mounted a really intensive operation to try to find Nicola.” He said: "It's very sad, a very tragic incident. I've heard this afternoon that they've found the lady's phone. There's loads of posters up around the village, and there's loads of people who are trying to help find her.
