Mets first baseman Pete Alonso took Braves starter Bryce Elder deep for his 22nd home run of the year in the third inning in Atlanta on Tuesday — and let the right-hander hear about it afterward.“Throw it again, throw it again, please. Throw it again,” Alonso was caught yelling on a hot mic toward Elder from the Mets dugout after the 448-foot blast.
The two-time Home Run Derby champion extended his lead in dingers, now three ahead of Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge,But Alonso’s exuberance in Atlanta wasn’t the first time this year that he went viral for a roundtripper.Elder hung a slider to start the at-bat. Pete didn’t miss the second one.
