EXCLUSIVE: Giovanni Pernice reportedly won't return to Strictly after nine years on the show - and previous contestant Peter Andre has given his thoughts on the situation
Strictly Come Dancing fans were shocked when it was announced Giovanni Pernice had reportedly 'quit' the hit BBC show after nine years.
However, Peter Andre - who starred on Strictly back in 2015 - has said he and the pro dancer got on "very well" and issued a five word statement that read: "I never saw anything untoward." "When I was on Strictly, he was lovely to me and we got on very well. Whenever we bump into each other, it's always great. I never saw anything untoward. But in situations like this, we never really know what’s going on and I can only talk about my experiences with people."
The official statement comes after claims that Giovanni told friends that he will not be returning for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing. A source reportedly told The Sun: "Gio feels the scrutiny on him has become too much, and now is the time to make a fresh start.
