Peter Gabriel sets three Texas stops for i/o: The Tour including one at Houston's Toyota Center
Peter Gabriel will play his first Houston show in 12 years in October.Peter Gabriel announced additional dates for his i/o — The Tour today, including three Texas dates. Among those three, was a Toyota Center date on Oct. 21. The show will be Gabriel's first in a dozen years. Gabriel's tours are typically grandly-conceived endeavors, so the theatrical singer and songwriter doesn't tour frequently.
Gabriel's i/o — The Tour comes in support of"i/o," his next album, due at some point this year. Gabriel released the song"Panopticom" on Jan. 6 — the first full moon of the year. Gabriel stated his intention to continue the lunar-based rollout, offering subsequent songs with subsequent full moons. March 7 saw the release of"Playing for Time." The next full moon is April 6.
Gabriel will mix"i/o" songs with old favorites backed by a band of familiar faces: bassist Tony Levin, guitarist David Rhodes and percussionist Manu Katché.. A special fan club on-sale begins March 21.
