A superb turn out for the ‘Bobby Ren’ memorial on Sunday saw a more than fitting winner take the top honours. As many anglers will know, Bobby Reynolds was a match angler who was held in the highest esteem of everyone who had the pleasure to have known him.
Even from a very young age and being coached by his father, he was always one in the making. LAS man Keenan pegged on the Kings Arms with a fantastic days fishing as he put together a caster approach over groundbait. Here he took a good tench for 4lb, three bream and some skimmers for a match winning 17.6.0 to help him lift this now coveted trophy in Bobby’s name.
Griffiths’s took bream roach and skimmers for third place for a creditable 9.7.0 and again making his trip over to Merseyside more than worthwhile. Over on Carr Mill Dam, a water that also sees anglers travelling far and wide to visit this superb St Helens AA venue, match weights are again giving notice to everyone just what this ‘grand old lady is capable of producing.
