SHOOTING CIRCUMSTANCES: Sources tell FOX 29 that police believe the 15-year-old was not struck by a stray bullet but instead shot after an attempted carjacking.
Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 6200 block of Mulberry Street around 9 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
Investigators originally said that Toomey was hit by stray gunfire, but law enforcement sources told FOX 29's Kelly Rule that they believe he was shot twice while running from an attempted carjacking. It's believe that the same two suspects tried to carjack a woman as she was parking at an apartment complex across the street, but her doors were locked and they ran away.
