Philippe Clement insists Dujon Sterling's inexperience led to him giving a brutally honestly Rangers post match interview where he claimed they had been s*** recently and questioned the squad’s belief. The manager insisted Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk would never have said that.
Sterling’s post match take appeared to be at odds with his boss but Clement - who has Mohamed Diomande fit again after surgery on his thumb but says Ridvan Yilmaz remains a doubt - said of Sterling: “It’s the words of a player who is disappointed because we lost points and maybe lacks a bit of experience in that way. We are two games away from a trophy so everyone is excited for that. The mood is hungry, there is a desire to get into the next game - that is what I expect.
