Bryce Harper had himself a night to remember in the Philadelphia Phillies' 9–4 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park.
Harper went 3-for-4 with three home runs and six RBI against the Reds, smacking solo shots in the first and fourth innings before clobbering a grand slam in the seventh.with NBC Sports Philadelphia. Phillies analyst John Kruk pointed out that Harper tried to throw the ball around the horn after just the second out of the eighth inning."You saw that, that's great," Harper said with a laugh."What am I doing over there? Unbelievable.
Per Elias Sports, Harper became the first player in MLB history since at least 1900 to hit three homers in a game after entering the day hitless. Harper went 0-for-11 in his first three contests this season. Harper's 2024 stats are looking much better after his Herculean effort Tuesday against the Reds. And thanks to Turner, he doesn't have an error to his name ... yet.
