Phillip Schofield has publicly apologised to his ex-wife Stephanie Lowe, after admitting to having an affair with a young male runner on This Morning whilst they were still married.
A week after stepping down from presenting duties on This Morning "with immediate effect" Phillip made a lengthy statement to MailOnline, in which he admitted to having an "on-off" consensual relationship with a male runner during his time on This Morning, which he said was "not wise but not illegal".
Phillip then said: "It was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship. That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over."At the time, she said: "We have had to face the most emotionally painful time in our 27 years of marriage.
"But my recent, unrelated, departure from This Morning fuelled speculation and raised questions which have been impacting him, so for his sake it is important for me to be honest now."
