Now in its fourth year, the Far North Fashion Show drew a crowd to the Anchorage Museum on Thursday night, featuring the work of Indigenous designers that ranged from traditional to modern to experimental.

The Anchorage Museum partnered with the Arctic Encounter Symposium, going on this week at the Dena’ina Center, for the event. “This year, it’s a little bit bigger of a crowd, but it’s always exciting,” said McConnell, who said she combines contemporary designs with traditional Inupiaq elements using materials such as fox, suede, beadwork and fish leather.
