Pickup driver strikes, kills pedestrian in Escondido [Breaking]
The fatal crash happened about 5:20 p.m. at Broadway and Washington Avenue, according to a news release from Escondido police Lt. Craig Miller. Police did not provide details about how the crash occurred.
Officers arrived within minutes and administered CPR to the woman, but she died at the scene, Miller said. Her name, age and other identifying details were not immediately available.The driver of the truck remained at the scene, cooperated with investigators and was not suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Miller said.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or otherwise has information about it was asked to contact traffic investigator Officer Paul Smyth at 839-4423.
