Plane with three passengers crashes near El Capitan Reservoir [Breaking]
A plane with three passengers crashed late Saturday afternoon near the Three Sisters Falls hiking trail in Descanso, the Sheriff’s Department and Cal Fire reported.
A man called 911 at 4:09 p.m. to report the crash of the small, fixed-wing plane about 6 miles east of El Capitan Reservoir. Upon arrival, authorities found that none of the passengers had suffered injuries. Cal Fire had already been nearby conducting a separate rescue at Three Sisters Falls with the Sheriff’s Department’s helicopter when the copter crew spotted the fallen plane. They landed the helicopter, then hiked into the scene of the crash. The passengers were not transported to a hospital, but Cal Fire crew waited for investigators to arrive on the scene.
