The land is currently used as a car park for a nearby playing fields
A Nottinghamshire council has put forward plans to build a new 'health hub'. Mansfield District Council has submitted plans for the development of a new fitness centre at Carr Lane, Warsop.
The site is currently used as parking for playing fields and an adjacent games area. This land is owned by the council.Mansfield District Council previously stressed the new facilities were "not a leisure centre" and would "therefore not [be] a replacement" for the Meden Sports Centre, which was closed in 2018. The proposed hub was devised as the result of a consultation into the needs of Warsop residents after the Meden Sports Centre's closure.
The scheme would move the games area north to create space for the new facility. The proposed car park would have 51 spaces, including four disabled spaces and seven motorcycle spaces.
