Councillor Anne Hannigan has criticised a decision which will see the enforcement equipment in Gleniffer Road made 'dormant'.
Plans to deactivate and bag a speed camera on a busy Paisley road have been branded an "absolute nonsense" by an exasperated politician.
Councillor Hannigan, a Liberal Democrat representative for Paisley Southwest, said: "Steps by Safety Camera Scotland to deactivate the speed camera at Gleniffer Road and their reasons for doing so are an absolute nonsense, and completely lacking in common sense. Of course driving behaviour has improved at the location – that's because the camera is there.
