CLEVELAND — Luka Doncic made sure the Mavericks met their playoff-clinching expectations Wednesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
They will not fall into the play-in tournament for the Nos. 7-10 spots, even if they lose their five remaining games. Instead, they’ll follow the April 10 regular-season finale with a week of rest and practice for their third consecutive Doncic-led series. “He wanted to put on a good show,” coach Jason Kidd said. “Not just a show, but he came to work. That’s what he does. He comes to work, and we get to see it on a daily basis.”
