The family of Kavion Brown has spent four nights at East River Park watching the NYPD Harbor Unit boats search the waters
The parents of a teenage boy who disappeared in the East River issued a tearful plea for help, as they are desperate for answers five days into the search for their son.
. The 13-year-old was last seen at the Lower East Side park Friday afternoon, catching his school's soccer game with friends. "I’m going to be here for as long as i need to be. For as long as i need to be that’s my baby," said Laquana Godfrey, the boy's mother."We're still looking for my son." Brown and his friends spoke with a coach that was going to be at the game as well. Investigators said witnesses saw Brown go into the water, but it remains unclear why he did so. He never made it out.NYPD scuba divers went down into the river on Friday while a drone scanned the water from above. Boats continue to scour the river, with harbor unit officers telling the mother they are going out in two shifts each day.
