Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a sexual assault which took place in Ballymoney.
Detectives received a report at 11.25pm on Friday, August 5, that a young teenage girl had been sexually assaulted on Thursday between 4pm and 6pm close to a leisure centre's outdoor football pitches. An 18-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of a number of sexual offences including sexual activity by an adult with a child and remains in custody at this time assisting with police enquiries.A spokesperson for the PSNI added: "We are keen to speak to anyone with any information, let us be the judge of importance of the information. All information will be treated with the upmost sensitivity.
