Since then, Dauphin County investigators publicly named Warfel as a suspect in Kroh’s disappearance. The 17-year-old was last seen Aug. 5, 1989, while walking home from a relative’s home at Alex Acres Trailer Park off Route 147. Mountain House Road will be closed to non-residential traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 27-31 between Armstrong Valley and Deitrich roads. State police provided the following statement on the demolition Monday:
A psychologist in late 2019 evaluated Warfel and found he suffered from major neurocognitive disorder, commonly referred to as dementia. This impairs Warfel’s memory and cognition enough that he is not capable of participating in his own defense as Constitutionally required, the psychologist said.
