Police detain Lincoln High student who said he had gun; no injuries reported [Breaking]
Police on Tuesday took a Lincoln High School student into custody after he reportedly claimed to be armed with a gun, though it was unclear if he actually had a firearm, a San Diego officer said.
The incident, reported about 2:30 p.m., drew a huge police presence to the campus on Imperial Avenue between Interstate 805 and Euclid Avenue. The person who reported the incident to police had not actually seen the student with a gun, San Diego police Officer Sarah Foster said. It was not immediately known if officers found a gun on the boy.Police radio traffic indicated officers closed Imperial Avenue in both directions along the front of the campus, and a San Diego police SWAT unit reportedly responded.
