A 48-year-old woman from Kentucky shot an Uber driver on U.S. 54 south near exit 20 to Loop 375 in south-central El Paso Friday, police said.

"It's still very much unfolding and were still trying to gather a lot of the facts," said El Paso police spokesman Sgt. Javier Sambrano.Sambrano said the woman called the police."She was in possession of a firearm," Sambrano said. There were preliminary reports of a possible kidnapping. Police said the investigation at this time does not support that a kidnapping took place.
