In a separate incident on Saturday, December 31, police attended after members of the public and staff at Rangers FC reported concerns over 'males with weapons' near the stadium.
A number of "potentially dangerous items" were found hidden inside Ibrox stadium just hours before Rangers took on Celtic in the second Old Firm clash of the season on Monday.
Police Scotland and club staff threw them out after finding the items during a search on Monday, January 2.Two men - believed to be part of the group who were given early access - were reported to the Procurator Fiscal for minor drug offences. "During a cursory search a number of potentially dangerous items were found secreted in the stadium and Police Scotland supported the club to eject the males.
“We always welcome engagement with supporters and communities and we will continue to work with Rangers FC and other partners to ensure public safety.”
